Integration Activities
The Certification team aligns the upcoming certification exams and credentials to the HP Software Centers and initiatives. The plan for new credentials was submitted to HP Certified Professional (HPCP) Program for approval. Upon approval, HPCP will program the logic in their system to accept the new credentials, exams and list of qualified legacy Mercury certified professionals.
To allow time to compile legacy Mercury data to submit to HPCP, and to allow HPCP sufficient time to modify their system and integrate data, HP Software will stop offering all legacy Mercury (specialist and certified product consultant) exams starting September 1, 2007. This will continue until November 1, 2007 when the new credentials will be available through Prometric.
During the exam shutdown (September 1, 2007 to October 31, 2007) we will be migrating legacy Mercury Certification information to HPCP. The information of all current credential holders will be moved over to HPCP and a communication will go out informing the credential holders of their new credential status.

HP Software Certification Levels and Titles
HP Software Certification will offer technical and sales accreditation. HP Software uses the HP credentials titles and levels in the new certification exams.
Exam Prices and Delivery
HP certification exams can be taken at any Prometric Test Center location. There are over 2000 test center locations worldwide, bringing increased scalability in enabling field experts on HP Software. There are two main types of exams:
Test Center exam through Prometric locations worldwide
- Proctored exams
- Timed 2 - 4 hours per exam
- $124 per exam ($62 for emerging markets*)
Web-based exam through Prometric
- Web-based test that is taken at your convenience
- Not proctored
- Timed 2 hours per exam
- $25 per exam

Overview on Exam Vouchers:
Account managers, companies and HP business units who want to take advantage of the new exam prices can purchase vouchers for their customers, partner accounts, employees and team members.
The HP Certified Professional Program exam vouchers provide individuals (as well as organizations and business units) with a convenient method of purchasing a large volume of exam vouchers. Exam vouchers for both Test Center and Web-based exams can be purchased in "bulk" by using the online ordering method.

HP Software Credential Map
Beginning November 1, 2007, HP Software will follow a new set of center-based credentials. The result of redesigning certification exam offerings to align with HP Software Centers and follow HPCP program guidelines is a streamlined list of credentials and a set of requirement exams.

Important:
Candidates who will need to take a Prometric Web-based upgrade exam to earn their new credential have five months after the publication of the upgrade exam to complete the credential requirement.
How to Take Legacy Mercury Exams through HP Software Certification
(Available until August 31, 2007)
To register for an exam:
- Locate the exam you wish to take by clicking this link.
- From the exam list page click the “Details” button to find the description, study summary, and the “Schedule” button.
- The “Schedule” button will list the available locations and times. After locating a location and time click the “Register” button and follow the on-screen instructions.
Contact your regional legacy Mercury training and certification representatives to determine available certification schedules.

Note for HP Employees
Employees can take the exams through HP Software University at any time convenient to them until Aug 31, 2007. HP employees will need their own HPSU account to log in.

HP Software Launches New Sales Accreditation
The HP Software Certification Team is pleased to announce three new Accredited Sales Consultant (ASC) exam credentials. The target availability date for these credentials is November 1st, 2007. They will be available worldwide through Prometric’s Web-based exam. You will be able to log onto these tests from your own PC. The HP Software Solutions Foundation exam (HP2-N11) is a Web-based Prometric exam that is already available online.
To date, the HP Certified Professional (HPCP) program offers one HP Open View ASC credential as shown.
As of November, the HP OpenView ASC credential will change. The new credential will become the HP Software Operations Solutions ASC credential (see Note).
The three new HP Software Solutions ASC credentials
- HP Software Strategy Solutions ASC
- HP Software Applications Solutions ASC
- HP Software Operations Solutions ASC
Require the HP Software Solutions Foundation Exam (HP2-N11) now available, and one of the three corresponding core exams (2 exams in total) to qualify for an ASC credential.
Important:
Certified professionals in ASC – HP OpenView Solutions are recommended to upgrade their credential to ASC - HP Software Operations Solutions by taking the HP2-N11 exam. The ASC – HP OpenView Solutions credential will be retired on Nov 1, 2007.

Post Integration Activities: After Nov 1, 2007
If your credentials qualified for integration and your data was submitted to HP, you will receive a welcome e-packet that contains:
- Welcome to the HP Certified Professional Program community
- HP student ID number
The HP student ID number replaces the ‘Cert ID number’ used in legacy Mercury exams. With the HP student ID number, you will be able to verify your credentials and exams by logging to the HP web site.
